At present, the current standard of children's furniture in China is only for individual categories, such as cots, folding cots, children's high chairs, household double beds, etc. The new standard is universal and defines for the first time that children's furniture is applicable to children from 3 to 14 years old.
The standard stipulates the limit indicators for heavy metals, formaldehyde emissions and toxic and harmful substances such as decomposable aromatic amines in the main and auxiliary materials such as artificial panels, coatings, textiles, fur fabrics, etc. of children's furniture, which are more strict and demanding than adult furniture. The products that fail to meet the standard in the spot check of relevant departments will be prohibited from sale and will be recalled or returned.
This standard has the nature of technical regulations, and enterprises must strictly implement it, or they will be severely punished or eliminated from the market.
