When buying hardwood furniture, there is no tree species name on the product logo, but the business insists that it is a tree species. Should you believe it? I believe many consumers have encountered such confusion. Yesterday, the provincial bureau of quality supervision announced on its website the regular sampling inspection of five products last year, including furniture and printing machinery. This time, 762 batches were sampled, 681 of which passed the inspection, and the qualification rate of product physical quality was 94.2%. Among them, in the random inspection of furniture, many products did not specify the tree species. More than 10 furniture enterprises in Dongguan were blacklisted because of unqualified tree species and logo.
The acid value of coatings from two Dongguan enterprises is unqualified
According to the published results, 47 batches of printing machinery products produced by 40 enterprises in 8 cities (districts) such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Dongguan were inspected this time, 43 batches passed the inspection, and the qualification rate of product sampling batches was 91.5%. Among the sampled Dongguan enterprises, the pad printing machines and flat screen printing machines sampled by Dongguan Henghui Color Printing Machinery Factory Co., Ltd. this time are all qualified, and there are no unqualified products. However, in the spot check of coating products, Dongguan has two enterprises on the unqualified list. A total of 122 batches of coating products produced by 109 enterprises in 10 cities (districts) including Guangzhou and Dongguan were inspected, and the qualification rate of product sampling batches was 92.6%. The acid value of each product sampled by Dongguan Shuangge Paint Co., Ltd. and Dongguan Lili Paint Co., Ltd. is unqualified.
Unqualified acid value will affect the stability of the product, leading to a decline in product quality. The main reason for the disqualification is that some enterprises do not strictly control the production quality, and the products are not tested in strict accordance with the relevant standards before the raw materials enter the factory and the finished products leave the factory.
The qualification rate of furniture sampling inspection in Dongguan is half and half
In this sampling inspection of furniture products, more than 10 products in Dongguan passed the inspection. For example, Dongguan Kaiwo Furniture Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Dongguan Langchen Furniture Co., Ltd., Dongguan Shatian Ruiju Household Products Factory and other relevant furniture products passed the sampling inspection.
In addition, the products of more than 10 furniture enterprises in Dongguan have been on the "black list" in this sampling inspection. For example, the flower table with the name of checkered wood (pineapple) produced by Dongguan Youwei Furniture Co., Ltd. in October 2011 was tested as unqualified in many items such as liquid resistance, moisture resistance, and tree species. A small square stool with a size of 28 × 28 × 33 cm produced by Dongguan Machong Licheng Rosewood Furniture Factory in April 2011 was also found to be unqualified in terms of tree species, signs and other items.
The reporter found that the unqualified items were mainly the unqualified identifications, but there were also several batches of products with unqualified tree species. The quality supervision department reminds that if the tree species project is not qualified, the products purchased by consumers will not be the tree species explicitly stated by the enterprise, which will bring huge economic losses to consumers. The main reasons leading to the disqualification of the project are as follows: First, some production enterprises made mistakes in the purchase of raw materials due to the lack of professional and technical personnel, and did not go to the national authority to test the tree species; Second, some manufacturers do not understand the relevant standards.

1、 Look at the logo. Check whether the furniture is provided with product logo, product instructions, product quality express card, etc., and check whether the tree species name is given, which should include the complete Chinese name and Latin name, and whether the whole furniture is of the same material.
If several kinds of materials are used, their use parts and material names should be clearly marked. If the names of "red sandalwood, black sandalwood, green sandalwood" are used, they are non-standard. Other materials such as the type of paint, adhesive, wax, etc. shall also be indicated in the instructions for use. Other contents such as the name and address of the manufacturer, maintenance methods, troubleshooting, after-sales, etc. shall not be missing.
2、 Look at the report. Ask the enterprise for product quality inspection report, timber species identification report, etc. Check whether the tree species promised by the enterprise are consistent with the identification.
3、 Shelf life. The warranty period of dark color precious hardwood furniture shall not be less than two years.
